Our Mission
The Vision
Training, Equipping and Mobilizing Christians to reach the unreached, the nominal Christians and the rest of the world. Particularly, the 10×40 window (Eastern hemisphere, plus European and African part of the Western hemisphere, located between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator); to extend the Kingdom of God through preaching and teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The vision of the Church is to reach a community that is involved in true worship to God and that which will spread his fame by being faithful to his calling. It hopes to build a kingdom of Christ through the practice of justice, mercy, and the reconciliation among all the members of the community. It further hopes to mold a community that embraces the gospel of grace and teaches the Disciples how to love. The Church hopes to become self-supporting, vibrant, and missionary minded to promote joyful worship while developing the community. It hopes to work closely with other local Churches to embrace the region.
The local community at Lansing Michigan has a great passion for praise and worship. A praise and worship team would be a great way to interact with the community. The approach will help bring together individuals with different beliefs and practices. The gospel choir will create an opportunity for the Church to market itself and create awareness of its existence. The gospel choir may incorporate our local Church and singers from other Churches. The gospel choir may take place at least once in four months.
The Church leadership shall tap on the opportunity to win more souls for Christ. The Church may also consider doing community outreach possibly by embracing a door to door approach. It may also engage in charitable activities in the community such as visiting homes for the elderly, homeless shelters, and prisons.
Covenant Values Statement
Learning to become more authentic followers of Jesus Christ by sharing and exploring beliefs from our own traditions and the traditions of others whose insight into the divine is seen through different lenses.
If you are a member of another Christian Church that does not transfer membership, you can make a profession of faith and be received as a member of the Church planting Parish.
Creating a movement of planting by developing key Partnerships.
Target Community
Our primary target community is the Residents of Michigan’s Tri-County area (Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton), Michigan. The particular target is the Immigrants / New Americans, originally from Western, Eastern, Southern, Northern and Central African Countries. The Immigrants / New Americans, Unchurched People, and Non-English speakers have been missing the action to share with them the Word of God the Almighty. The culture of the community points out that it enjoys contemporary Christian music during worship or Service. The Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton County community especially the Immigrants / New Americans, Homeless people and Michiganders who dwell in Michigan have special spiritual needs. They need an approach that would make them feel appreciated. They require an approach that would offer them an opportunity to take an active role in Church activities while nurturing their talents. They require spiritual nourishment and intense Holy Bible study sessions that will make them familiar with the Gospel. The Church will employ different strategies towards ensuring that the needs of the community especially Immigrants / New Americans and Homeless Michiganders in the communities are met. The first strategy will entail bringing the target group closer to Church principles. Such will be attained through avenues such as summer trips, men fellowship, women fellowship, Holy Bible study, Youth fellowships, Homeless Michiganders shelter visits, and Praise and Worship Band. The reason why we targeted Lansing Michigan is that Lansing is the capital city of Michigan. It is mostly in Ingham County, although portions of the city extend west into Eaton County and North into Clinton County.
As the 2010 census placed the city’s population at 114, 297, making it the 5th largest city in Michigan. The population of its Metropolitan statistical area was 464, 036, while the even larger combined statistical area population, which includes Shiawassee County, was 534, 684. It was named the new state capital of Michigan in 1847; ten years after Michigan became a state. As of the census of 2010, there were 114, 297 people, 48, 450 households, and 26,234 families residing in the city. The population density was 3,174.9 per square mile (1, 226.3 / km2). In the article titled “Michigan becomes haven for Congo Refugees.’ Michigan is seeing a sharp decline in refugees in the past two years; Congolese are the exception as they create a growing community in the State. The Donald Trump administration set the number of Refugees allowed into the county at 30,000 this year, below last year’s cap of 45,000 and roughly a quarter of those grand entries in the final year of Barack Obama’s presidency in 2016. At the end of March, the U.S had resettled more than 10,000 individuals: 5,800 were Congolese. For all of 2019, Michigan officials initially expected to take in 1,032 Refugees, said Karen Philippi, Director of the Michigan Office for New Americans. “It is possible we could reach that, but 800 to 900 are more realistic…” Philippi said. Michigan resettled 650 Refugees in 2018, Philippi said. Southeast Michigan is among the largest resettlement hubs in the U.S. An average of 3,000 Refugees a year – 30, 000 in the last decade – found homes here.
